Mabe Pearls

Mabe pearl is a kind of cultured pearls, but cultivation way is a little bit different with other pearls. 

A half piece nucleus is inserted against the inside of the oyster shell, rather than implant in this mantle tissue. The mollusc secretes the pearl nacre over the bead. 9-12 months later, the pearl will be cut from the shell and then the inserted nucleas will be filled with resin, the back of the pearl will be capped with a piece of mother-of- pearl to complete the Mabe Pearl.
